Here’s the follow up….
For those who don’t already know, Ash Thomas (Vlad drummer) has left the band after 9 years. We wish him well. Drummer Eric Tuffendsam (fomerly of the band Rufio) has stepped in as our new drummer. We welcome him as we know you all will. He is a great drummer and a great guy.
The ‘Serpent Girl’ cover up goes like this….We had originally decided to put these 5 songs as bonus tracks on the reissue of our out-of-print first (self titled release). We were going to credit these as having been recorded years ago and as being on some sort of “lost” E.P. After rethinking this we decided this was a bad idea. First off, it’s not true. Secondly, they turned out sounding SO good that no one would believe they were from 9 years ago. Ash recorded the initial 5 tracks with us before leaving. But when we got Eric on board and the great folks at Blood And Guts Records agreed to release ‘Serpent Girl’ on it’s own, if we added some more songs, we thought this would be a perfect opportunity to initiate Eric. So, Eric played drums on the last 5 songs. 10 tracks in all we are finishing it up this coming week.
More on that later.
With Eric in the fold now we will start doing shows again very soon. We are all excited to get back out there. Sorry for the lull in the action. We just weren’t sure if Ash would be leaving for good or not.
I think that covers it for now.
I should have some new band photos up in the next few days. We took some shots when we were recording the other day. More very soon. In the meantime, buy some cd’s, and check out the new comp cd at bloodandgutsrecords.com for a sneak preview song from ‘Serpent Girl’ and all of the other great bands on there.
Stay Sick!!!!
Brian (and the Vlads).
